The three-day AHCAB International Expo begins on January 8

A three-day AHCAB International Expo is set to be held to accelerate innovation, investment, and sustainable growth in the country’s animal health, fisheries, and livestock sectors.

Under the slogan “Healthy Animals, Prosperous Nation,” the 6th AHCAB International Expo 2026, organized by the Animal Health Companies Association of Bangladesh (AHCAB), will take place from January 8 to 10 at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB), located along the Purbachal Express Highway in the capital.

The organizers disclosed this information at a press conference held on Monday (January 5) at the Tofazzal Hossain Manik Mia Hall of the National Press Club.

Those present at the press conference included AHCAB President Sayem Ul Haque, Secretary General Md. Anwar Hossain, Vice President Dr. Sabur, IT and Media Sub-Committee Convener Rashedul Zakir, member Tarikur Rahman, Dr. Rakibul, and other leaders of the organization.

Speakers at the press conference said that representatives from 14 countries will participate in this year’s expo. The event will feature 128 foreign stalls and 65 international exhibitors. Alongside them, leading local companies and institutions will showcase their products and services.

They further informed that on Thursday (January 8) at 3:00 pm, Adviser to the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock, Farida Akhter, will inaugurate the expo as the chief guest.

Special guests will include Abu Taher Muhammad Jaber, Secretary of the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock, and Dr. Md. Abu Sufian, Director General of the Department of Livestock Services (DLS).

Speakers at the press conference said that a healthy fisheries and livestock sector ensures safe and nutritious food, creates employment, strengthens rural livelihoods, and contributes to poverty reduction. At the same time, healthy companion animals have a positive impact on people’s physical and mental well-being and make a significant contribution to the economy.

They added that strong veterinary services and effective biosecurity measures reduce the risk of disease transmission from animals to humans, thereby protecting both people and the environment. The expo reflects the goal of strengthening food security, expanding trade and exports, and reinforcing Bangladesh’s competitive position in regional and global markets.

They also noted that the expo will showcase modern products, vaccines, medicines, feed solutions, diagnostics, and technologies from leading local and international companies. In addition, knowledge-based discussion sessions will be held with the participation of local and foreign experts on animal health, sustainable development, and global trade. The event will also provide networking opportunities for farmers, fisheries and livestock experts, agricultural entrepreneurs, and policymakers.
