An international exhibition will be held in Dhaka to boost investment in the livestock sector

The three-day “6th AHCAB International Expo 2026” is set to be held to expand domestic and foreign investment and accelerate sustainable growth in the country’s fisheries and livestock sectors.

Organized by the Animal Health Companies Association of Bangladesh (AHCAB) under the slogan “Healthy Animals, Prosperous Nation,” the international exhibition will take place from January 8 to 10 at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB), located along the Purbachal Express Highway in the capital.

It was announced at a press conference held on Monday at the National Press Club that representatives from 14 countries will participate in this year’s expo. Aimed at creating new opportunities for international trade, technology exchange, and investment cooperation in the animal health and fisheries sectors, the expo will feature 128 foreign stalls and 65 international exhibitors. In addition, leading local institutions will showcase their modern products, technologies, and services.

The press conference also informed that the expo will be inaugurated on January 8 at 3:00 pm. Adviser to the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock, Farida Akhter, will inaugurate the event as the chief guest. Abu Taher Muhammad Jaber, Secretary of the Ministry, will attend as a special guest, while Dr. Md. Abu Sufian will be present as an honored guest.

The press conference was moderated by Treasurer Dr. Mozammel Hossain Khan, while the written statement was presented by AHCAB’s IT and Media Affairs Convener Mohammad Rashedul Zakir.

He said that exhibitors from 14 countries, including China, India, Egypt, Romania, Turkey, and Vietnam, are participating in the expo, with 128 foreign stalls and 65 international exhibitors.

Mohammad Rashedul Zakir added that the exhibition will showcase modern vaccines, medicines, feed solutions, diagnostics, and new technologies. Alongside the exhibition, seminars and knowledge-based discussions will be held with the participation of local and international experts on animal health, sustainable development, and global trade. The expo will serve as an integrated platform for building connections among farmers, veterinarians, agribusiness leaders, and policymakers, while also creating opportunities to foster an investment-friendly environment through constructive dialogue with policymakers and regulatory authorities.

AHCAB President Sayem Ul Haque said that AHCAB began its journey in 2003 with 18 organizations. Currently, the association has nearly 800 registered members and more than 400 active members.

Those present at the press conference included AHCAB Secretary Md. Anwar Hossain, Vice President Dr. S. M. F. Abdus Sabur, Joint Secretary Dr. Mohammad Sarwar Jahan, Treasurer Dr. Md. Mozammel Haque Khan, Organizing Secretary Mohammad Rashedul Zakir, Executive Members Md. Mosleh Uddin, Mohammad Tariq, Tarek Mahmud Khan, Md. Taslim Khan, Khandaker Rakibul Islam, Consultant Kaniz Fatema, and Munna Raihan, President of the Fisheries and Livestock Journalists Forum (FLJF).
